Wildlife removal is now a growing industry. Understanding how to get rid of raccoons from attics, how to get rid of squirrels nesting and out of chewing on your residence, or even how to get rid of an armadillo from digging up your lawn has gotten more difficult for homeowners and property managers to handle.

The issue has become to big for cities to handle so a new business has been born, Nuisance Wildlife Removal. The most frequent nuisance wildlife is raccoons, squirrels, rats, rats, opossums, skunks, snakes, and armadillos. Wild hogs have recently become a common nuisance. Hogs largely have effected the plantation industry and ranching, but is becoming an urban nuisance as well.

The raccoon population in metropolitan areas has exploded in the last ten decades. Raccoons residing in sewers have adapted to moving their homes from trees into learning how to put in attics and chimneys. Removing a raccoon must only be tried by a trained professional. It’s dangerous setting a trap using a living raccoon in an attic. The raccoon could be nursing raccoon pups and be quite protective of her young. It could be a scenario that the homeowner does not understand that the pups have grown to full size and could be attacked by four or five raccoons at once. As one can see, an attic is dangerous since it does not have any flooring. When a trap is in the back of a loft with a mother raccoon, then you don’t have any flooring to escape quickly. Therefore people falling through the loft (the ceiling) may cause significant injury, not to mention that mother raccoon after you down.

Squirrels chewing through siding enter an attic or between floors has ever been a frequent annoyance for homeowners. Once in the loft squirrels can naw on cables creating a significant fire hazard and expensive electrical contractor invoices for the rewiring. The best method of ways to get rid of squirrels is one way traps set on the entry point to the structure. This way the squirrel leave on their own but can’t re-enter. If the squirrel is persistent, another option would be to trap and eliminate the squirrel into a lawful wildlife refuge.

Armadillos, skunks, and opossums commonly take up urban residence. Cities will only come and pick them up if you already have them trapped. Rats and bats should quickly be removed from structures before they populate the property.
